Calvary Christian School Honors Kathy Buckley

NO LIMITS to do what we can do for others

Each year, Calvary Christian School chooses a nationally recognized individual who embodies "community service" and Christian values to honor at their Community Service Kick-Off celebration in Los Angeles on October 9. This year, they will be honoring Kathy Buckley and No Limits! This celebration will recognize Kathy for her work with the hearing impaired and will also be an opportunity to reach students, families and the community with the message of overcoming obstacles with hope and possibility.

  • Past receipients include:
  • NBC's 2007 Mother of the Year, Patti Patton-Bader, founder of Soldiers' Angels
  • Cpt. Melissa Buzbee who oversaw the largest military hospital in Baghdad for the past two years.

Traditionally, CCS Community Service Kick-Off celebration is attended by more than 500 students, parents, dignitaries, national guard troops, color guard and more enthusiasm for doing good works than should fit in an auditorium.

Kudos to Julia Kartozian

Gold Award Project at No Limits

Thanks to the extraordinary efforts of Julia Kartozian, from Girls Scouts of America, our children who are deaf and hard of hearing had the pleasure to receive backpacks, crayons, pencils, notebooks and so much more. No Limits received an enormous amount of office supplies that will last us for the rest of the year. Not only did she collect some wonderful items for our Center, but she taught the kids how to make ice-cream and lava lamps. It was a blast for all of us involved. We are so grateful to Julia, her family, and supporters for all their time, effort and generosity and for truly making a difference in the lives of deaf children.

Kids Helping Kids

No Limits would like to thank the children and parents of Calvary Christian School in the Pacific Palisades

Once a year, the 2nd grade students at Calvary Christian school choose a worthwhile charity to partner with in order to teach its students the value of philanthropy and charitable giving. This year, Calvary Christian School picked No Limits for deaf children and sparked what became Community Day at No Limits. The students at Calvary Christian School took a field trip to No Limits Educational Center and developed pen pals with our students. The day was kicked off with special guest comedienne Kathy Buckley. Students learned about the talents and needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing children and received ear mold impressions provided by the Starkey Foundation. Calvary students and No Limits students became buddies and throughout the day, participated in several educational activities and enjoyed a special visit and motivational speech by the Mayor of Culver City. At the end of the day, the kind children of Calvary Christian School gave No Limits children a gift bag with special gifts. No limits would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Calvary Christian School, its students and parents for a wonderful day. You have a home here and are welcome to come back anytime!
